Suggested Tool Flow
  1. Obtain STL or OBJ model from thingiverse or craft one in modelling software.
  2. Configure print settings and slice using Slic3r.
  3. Upload directly from Slic3r to Octoprint.
  4. Start and monitor print from Octoprint web interface.
  5. Cancel Print if needed or adjust temperatures on the fly.
  6. Admire freshly 3d printed object.


Compatible Slicer

According to the Lulzbot forums ( the last Cura version Lulzbot had that supported the TAZ4 is 21.08 here Configure Cura 21.08 at start up with

  • Select Your Machine = Lulzbot TAZ 4 or 5
  • Lulzbot TAZ 4-5 Selection = Stock TAZ 4 (PET & v1)

Nozzle Assembly

  • Our printer has a Budaschnozzle 1.1 with 0.35 nozzle
  • The Nozzle itself is a 13mm AF hex with an M10 thread.

Heater Element

The heater element is heated by a 4.7 Ohm Wire Wound Glass Enamelled Resistor. Unfortunately they seem to fail fairly regularly

It is a 6W device. The part is a Vishay or Sfernice RB57 6x22 4R7 Enamelled Resistor.
