We are extremely keen to recycle as much of our waste as possible. We have a recycling bin for regular recyclable materials and we sort and recycle as much as possible of the remaining waste we generate. More details below. This page is in development so we will add more in due course.

General Waste Disposal

General non-recyclable waste is collected every weekday EXCEPT Tuesday. Put the rubbish outside the front door by 7:00 am. It is OK to put the rubbish out the night before.

Recycling

"Domestic" Recycling

We have a Mixed recycling box. Our Recycling collection day is Friday. Put the Recycling outside the front door by 7:00 am. It is OK to put the recycling out the night before.

Materials than can be recycled through this process are:

  • Plastic bottle with lids
  • Ready Meal Trays
  • Aerosol Cans
  • All colour glass bottles and jars
  • Food spread , margarine tubs and yoghurt pots
  • Tetrapak and similar drink and soup cartons
  • Food tins and Drink cans
  • White and Brown envelopes including those with windows
  • Office and shredded paper
  • Brochures and catalogues
  • Flattened Cardboard

"Exotic" Recycling

We generate some waste that cannot go in the regular recycling bin for these materials we have specific recycling processes.

Metal Waste

We have a metal waste bin. All metal waste is collected in the waste bin and when it is full it it taken to the local recycling centre.

Batteries

Batteries are collected in the space in a container. When the container is full it is taken to a local battery collection point.

Wood Waste

Larger off cuts of wood are saved in the "This could be useful to someone" off cuts bin. Smaller pieces and sawdust are currently disposed of in the regular waste as we are generating very small quantities. When we start to generate more wood waste we will investigate more appropriate recycling / disposal options.

Oil Waste

When we start to generate oil waste we will investigate more appropriate recycling / disposal options.

Chemical Waste

When we start to generate chemical waste we will investigate more appropriate recycling / disposal options.
